Turkey makes John sleepy!! :)

The girls and I have a little ritual in the morning of listening to music (usually music from Zumba) while they eat and I clean the kitchen. I'm sure the neighbors don't appreciate the volume but it helps us get moving in the morning. I love being able to watch the girls wiggle to the music and they get a big kick out of watching my dance moves! Well today Lydia decided to come help me load the dishwasher after she finished eating. Part of me wanted to shoo her away so I could finish quickly but decided to take the time and let her help. I was so lucky to have the opportunity to spend so much alone time with each of my kids in Minnesota. Now that we've moved and John is pretty non-existant around here (we still love you babe) I rarely, if ever, get a moment alone with any of them. She was beaming the whole time. The realization that a few minutes of my undivided attention could make her so happy made me want to cry. I forget so easily how little Lydia is. She has always been so mature and reasonable the I overlook that she still needs me. I just want to freeze her at 5 forever. Yes she can drive me crazy. She loses everything. She leaves tooth paste all over the sink. She is a pro eye-roller. She is 5 going on 25 but she is my Lou. She is still the little girl who slept wrapped up next to me the first year of her life. She is still the little girl who kept me sane during John's last deployment to Iraq. She is the most caring, loving child I have ever met. I am so blessed to be her mother.

Waiting Game

We are still waiting to find out John's new MOS (job) and our new duty station. Wish I could say when we should know but the Marine Corps never works the way I wish it would :) I'm trying to be patient. I am dreaming of Hawaii but trying not to get my hopes up (not working). So for now, more of the waiting game.

Crazy Week

This week has been insane for our family. Lydia and Treston had ear infections and croup so there wasn't much sleeping going on. John was gone Monday through Friday for training. He wasn't feeling well when he got back and was running a high temp all night. I ended up taking him to urgent care first thing Saturday and found out he has H1N1. I have him quarantined upstairs and he hasn't left the bedroom since. So it's sofa city for me! Thankfully none of us are showing any symptoms so we should be in the clear at this point.

Needless to say I am exhausted. I am looking forward to having my mom here next weekend...maybe I can take a nap! I've almost forgot what those are, lol! :)

Do Not Be Fooled!

Do NOT be fooled by the sweetness of this photo! If Treston could talk I am pretty sure the conversation would go something like this-

Addison- "What shall we do today to drive mother insane?"

Treston- "I shall poop my pants, get into things I shouldn't and chew on every wire I see. What about you dear sister?"

Addison- "Oh young one, you have so much to learn. All I must do is be me! That will be enough to drive mother crazy."

Payback Sucks

"MMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!"

"TJ NO!!"

"Here he comes!"

"TJ stop!!"

I try not to laugh but I can't help it. I warned them that Treston would pay them back for all the times they bothered him! He loves grabbing those trains off the track. Everytime they come near him he'll start giggling and bouncing around..ready to attack!
